Harvard Kennedy School

Industry: Academic institution
Artwork: 15 pieces of artwork with 1 mural
Scope: 4 floors
Above & Beyond: It was imperative to include artists identifying as BIPOC and LGBTQIA to reflect the staff, faculty, students, and visitors of HKS. Clear art program goals were co-created with an art committee. Museum-style plaques were created to explain the significance of each piece as it relates to HKS values.

Local artist, Silvia Lopez Chavez designed and painted this mural in the student center to encompass all the art program goals in one vision.

“To bring art to our campus and create more welcoming, inclusive, engaging, reflective, and vibrant common spaces. The program is intended to encourage dialogue, celebrate connection, and reflect the School’s missions, values, activities, and community.”
